Writing on back of photograph "Synagogue erected on the site of the former hall of the Société Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Holyoke, Massachusetts, where the first meeting of the delegates of local societies took place in 1898, to lay the foundation for the federation which became the Union Saint-Jean-Baptiste d'Amérique.
