Major E J Mallet,
Dear Sir.
I write a few words to You, for this Merry and New Year. Today we Celebrate the feast of our Lord Jesus Christ the day when he was circumcised eight days after he was born, of the Blessed Virgin Mary. And so all the catholic in the world, celebrate this feast today and so I wish you a Merry and happy New Year today; happy in saying and doing pleasant things to others. New Year is the comencement[sic] of every thing in the [[strikethrough]]world[[/strikethrough]] year. And so with a man.
And I am very glad, on this merry and happy New Year. And hope you are glad also as I am A happy happy[sic] New Year and, May God bless you.
