Mallet was no longer Indian Agent for the Tulalip Agency when he wrote this report. His only official report to the Commissioner of Indian Affairs was written on August 18, 1877. Mallet was relieved of his duty as Agent on December 6, 1877 per "Annual Report of the Commissioner of Indian Affairs, for the year 1878"
