Abstract
Algae within the family Desmidiaceae were examined in this research. Samples of desmids were gathered from multiple points around two ponds, Pratt Pond in Mason, New Hampshire and Round Pond in Nashua, New Hampshire. While more species were observed in Pratt Pond, Round Pond has higher scores on both the Simpson and Shannon Indices for species diversity.
